Owner/Chief Veterinarian Dr. Rob Bruner grew up around animals and veterinary medicine. His father was a longtime veterinarian in Harlowton, Montana. Pursuing a love of medicine, Dr. Rob graduated from the University of Montana then served in the U.S. Peace Corps in Malawi (Africa) for more than two years. After graduating from Colorado State University’s Veterinary Medicine & Biological Science program in 2000, he practiced for three years at an all-animal clinic in Flagstaff, Arizona. In 2003, he brought his new bride, Cynthia, back to the state he loves. Dr. Rob and Cynthia developed a plan for a small animal clinic that would meet all the needs of small animals in a compassionate environment, and in 2005 they built Big Sky Pet Center. At home Dr. Rob is surrounded by animals and a couple two-legged critters (Kyra and Ret), and no matter what time of year it is, when he’s not home you can bet he’s fishing.

Dr. Jonnae Slade grew up in Loring, MT on a cattle ranch and farm. She always enjoyed spending time with the animals and would love to meet your furry friend as well! Dr. Slade earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Montana Tech in 2007 and her Veterinary degree from Colorado State University in 2012. Since then she has been practicing small animal veterinary medicine in Billings and raising her family. Her and her husband Jim have two children (Kellen and Kenna) and one dog (Sally). They love traveling to visit family. When at home, Dr. Slade spends quite a bit of her time taking kids to activities and working in her yard.

Angie joined the BSPC team as our Practice Manager in August of 2021 shortly after receiving her Bachelor of Science in Health Administration degree from MSU-Billings. She is currently enrolled in the Master of Education program at MSU-Billings and thoroughly enjoys being a student. In her spare time, she loves gardening, studying and researching, decorating and spending time outdoors exploring with her husband, children, and dogs. Angie has 3 children (Cayden, Allie and Ava) and 3 crazy dogs (Cayenne, Satchmo and Bing).

Nicole has been employed with Big Sky pet Center since January of 2014. She was cross trained in boarding, reception and nursing and grew to boarding supervisor. Her real passion was nursing, so she eventually moved to full-time nursing. She now oversees the department as nurse supervisor. In addition to this role, she also manages the clinic’s inventory ordering and receiving. Nicole is married with 4 adult children. Her and her husband also enjoy their 6 grandchildren. She is drawn to anything outdoors and enjoys activities such as fishing, ice fishing, gardening, hunting, camping, and canning.

Angelica has been in the veterinary field for the past 7 years and joined Big Sky Pet Center in November of 2021. She started as a receptionist then quickly became the supervisor of our boarding department.

However, she knew in her heart she was meant to be in reception where she could interact with both pets and their owners. She has returned to the reception department as supervisor bringing her knowledge and positivity everyday. Outside of work she enjoys spending time outdoors, reading good books, listening to true crime podcasts, and going on adventures with her Fiancé and son.

Kayla joined the team in February of 2022 as a receptionist. She spent a little over a year at the front desk getting to know our clients and patients and loves recognizing them when they come in to the building. In March of 2023 she moved over to the nursing department where she is finding much enjoyment from the technical side of pet care. When she is not at work Kayla enjoys spending time with her fiancé Tyler and their two girl dogs, Brewski and Cedar, taking care of their cattle, grabbing an iced coffee (or 2) and relaxing at home with a book.

Ashton joined the BSPC team in the nursing department in May of 2022 following her graduation from Rocky Mountain College where she received her Bachelor of Science in Equestrian Studies (pre-vet). She is currently enrolled in the M. Ed. Program at GCU. She aspires to become a Veterinarian herself and is gaining as much experience as she can before attending vet school. In her free time she enjoys listening to history podcasts, riding horses, photography, and playing with her two dogs (Koda and Windsor).

Jordan started at BSPC in July of 2020 shortly after graduating from the Pima Medical Institute in Dillon, MT with an associates degree in Animal Medicine. She received her certification as a certified veterinary technician in the fall of that same year. Jordan has lived in Billings her entire life and has loved animals for just as long. In her free time she reads fantasy novels, plays video games, takes her pup on nice long walks and participates in various tabletop RPGs with her friends on the weekends. She currently has one dog, Remy, and several fish tanks full of a variety of un-named fish that she loves just the same.

Colin is a Licensed Veterinary Technician who joined the Big Sky Pet Center team in December of 2021. He is originally from Billings and attended college in Colorado Springs at Pima Medical Institute. He started his own pet sitting business prior to entering full-time as a veterinary technician. He is Fear Free Certified and has a special interest in feline care. When not working, Colin enjoys the Montana outdoors and keeps busy with his several cats, including two Bengals: Oliver and Zoe.
